By signing up for our services, creating an account, or using our website, you're agreeing to these terms. If you're a parent or guardian enrolling a minor, you're agreeing on their behalf as well.

The Basics

Who We Are

Radiance Education is a tutoring company operating primarily in Canada. We connect students with qualified tutors to help them achieve their academic goals across various subjects and grade levels.

Who Can Use Our Services

To use our services, you must either:

• Be at least 18 years old, or
• Have a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these terms on your behalf.

If you're under 18, your parent or guardian is responsible for your use of our services and must supervise your account.

Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. When we make significant changes, we'll notify you through email or a prominent notice on our website at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of our services after changes go into effect means you accept the updated terms.

If you don't agree with the changes, you can terminate your account before they take effect. We'll refund any prepaid fees for unused services on a pro-rated basis.

Services We Provide

Tutoring Services

We offer one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions across a range of subjects for students in elementary school through graduate school. Our services include:

• Academic subject tutoring (math, science, English, social studies, etc.)
• Test preparation and study skills coaching
• Homework help and assignment support
• College and university application guidance

Sessions can be conducted online via video conferencing or in person, depending on availability and your location.

Tutor Matching

We use our best judgment to match students with tutors based on subject expertise, teaching style, availability, and student needs. However, we don't guarantee that any particular tutor will be available or that a match will meet your expectations. If you're not satisfied with a tutor assignment, let us know and we'll work to find a better fit.

What We Don't Provide

Our instructors and tutors are here to support learning, not to do the work for students. We explicitly prohibit:

• Completing homework or assignments on behalf of students
• Writing essays, papers, or projects for students
• Taking tests or exams for students
• Participating in any form of academic dishonesty

We also don't provide:

• Medical, psychological, or therapeutic services
• Special education services requiring licensed specialists (though we can work alongside such professionals)
• Guaranteed academic outcomes or grade improvements

Your Account

Registration

To use our services, you'll need to create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Keep your login credentials secure and confidential
• Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
• Take responsibility for all activities that occur under your account

Account Security

You're responsible for maintaining the security of your account. We recommend using a strong, unique password and enabling any additional security features we offer. Don't share your login information with anyone except authorized family members who need access to manage sessions.

Payment Terms

Pricing

Our pricing varies based on factors like:

• Grade level and subject complexity
• Session duration and frequency
• Individual vs. group sessions
• Instructor qualifications and experience

Current pricing is available on our website and will be confirmed when you book services. We reserve the right to change our prices, but we'll give you at least 30 days' notice before any increases affect your existing services.

Payment Methods

We accept cash, interac E-transfer, major credit cards, debit cards, and other payment methods as indicated on our website. By providing payment information, you authorize us to charge you for the services you purchase.

Billing Cycle

Depending on your service package, you'll be billed:

• Per session: Charged after each completed session
• Package basis: Charged upfront for a bundle of sessions

All fees are in Canadian dollars (CAD) unless otherwise specified.

Cancellations, Rescheduling, and Refunds

Session Cancellations

Life happens, and we understand that sometimes you need to cancel. Here's our policy:

With 24+ hours notice:

• Full credit toward future sessions
• No charges applied

With less than 24 hours notice:

• 50% charge of the session fee
• 50% credit toward future sessions

No-shows (missed sessions without notice):

• Full session fee charged
• No credit issued

Emergency situations (illness, family emergencies, etc.) are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact us as soon as possible if you have an extenuating circumstance.

Rescheduling

You can reschedule sessions without penalty if you provide at least 24 hours notice. We'll work with you and your tutor to find a mutually convenient time. If rescheduling isn't possible, standard cancellation policies apply.

Tutor Cancellations

If your tutor needs to cancel a session, you'll receive full credit and we'll help reschedule at no additional cost. If this happens repeatedly, we'll assign a new tutor.

Refund Policy

Package purchases:

• Full refund if you cancel within 7 days of purchase and before any sessions are used
• Pro-rated refund for unused sessions after the first session (minus a 10% administrative fee)

Individual sessions:

• Refunds issued for any sessions we fail to provide
• No refunds once a session is completed, except in cases of extreme dissatisfaction (reviewed case-by-case)

Refunds are processed within 10 business days and returned to your original payment method.

Attendance and Participation

Student Responsibilities

To get the most from our services, students should:

• Attend all scheduled sessions on time
• Come prepared with relevant materials (textbooks, assignments, questions)
• Actively participate and engage with tutors
• Complete any agreed-upon work between sessions
• Communicate openly about learning challenges

Parent/Guardian Responsibilities

If you're enrolling a child, you agree to:

• Provide a quiet, distraction-free environment for online sessions
• Ensure reliable internet connectivity for virtual tutoring
• Monitor younger children during online sessions for safety
• Review progress reports and communicate with tutors as needed
• Support your child's learning between sessions

Technical Requirements

For online sessions, you'll need:

• A computer, tablet, or smartphone with camera and microphone
• Stable internet connection (minimum 5 Mbps recommended)
• Current web browser or our designated video conferencing platform
• Quiet space with minimal background noise

Technical difficulties happen. If they prevent a session from occurring, we'll reschedule at no charge. However, repeated technical issues on your end may result in standard cancellation fees.

Conduct and Behavior Standards

Expected Behavior

We're committed to maintaining a respectful, safe learning environment. All users—students, parents, and tutors—must:

• Treat others with courtesy and respect
• Communicate professionally and appropriately
• Avoid harassment, discrimination, or offensive behavior
• Respect others' time and commitments
• Follow all applicable laws and regulations

Prohibited Conduct

The following behaviors are strictly forbidden:

• Bullying, harassment, or intimidation of any kind
• Discriminatory language or actions based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic
• Sexual harassment or inappropriate advances
• Recording sessions without explicit consent from all parties
• Sharing login credentials with unauthorized individuals
• Using our services for any unlawful purpose
• Attempting to hack, disrupt, or compromise our systems

Academic Integrity

We take academic honesty seriously. Students must not:

• Submit tutor-completed work as their own
• Use our services to cheat on tests or assignments
• Plagiarize or help others plagiarize
• Violate their school's honor code or academic policies

Parents, please note: If we become aware that a student is using our services dishonestly, we'll notify you and may terminate services.

Consequences

Violations of these conduct standards may result in:

• Warning and required behavior correction
• Temporary suspension of services
• Permanent termination of account without refund
• Reporting to appropriate authorities for serious violations

Intellectual Property

Our Content

All content on our website and learning materials—including text, graphics, logos, lesson plans, worksheets, and educational resources—are owned by Radiance Education or our licensors. They're protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may use our materials solely for your personal, non-commercial educational purposes. You may not:

• Copy, reproduce, or distribute our materials without permission
• Modify or create derivative works from our content
• Use our materials for commercial purposes

Your Content

Tutor-Created Materials

Materials created by tutors specifically for your sessions belong to Radiance Education, but you're granted a license to use them for your personal educational purposes. You may not distribute or sell these materials.

Disclaimers and Limitations

No Guaranteed Results

While our tutors work hard to support student learning, we can't guarantee specific outcomes. Academic success depends on many factors beyond tutoring, including student effort, school quality, learning differences, and external circumstances.

We make no warranties or representations about:

• Grade improvements or test score increases
• Acceptance into specific schools or programs
• Achievement of particular academic milestones

Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable, uninterrupted services, but we can't guarantee that our website or services will always be available. We may experience:

• Scheduled maintenance and updates
• Technical difficulties or server issues
• Internet connectivity problems
• Force majeure events (natural disasters, pandemics, etc.)

We're not liable for any disruptions outside our reasonable control.

Third-Party Services

We may use third-party platforms for video conferencing, payment processing, or other functions. We're not responsible for the performance, security, or policies of these third-party services. Your use of them may be subject to additional terms.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

We're not liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Lost profits, data, or opportunities
• Damages exceeding the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim
• Issues arising from your misuse of our services
• Third-party actions or content

We don't exclude liability for:

• Death or personal injury caused by our negligence
• Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
• Any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law

This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory (contract, tort, negligence, etc.).

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Radiance Education, our tutors, employees, and partners from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your violation of these terms
• Your misuse of our services
• Your violation of any laws or third-party rights
• Content you submit to us
• Any actions by minors using your account

This obligation survives termination of your account.

Acknowledgment

By using our services, you acknowledge that:

• You've read and understood these terms
• You agree to be bound by them
• You're legally capable of entering into binding contracts
• If enrolling a minor, you have the authority to agree on their behalf
• You'll comply with all applicable laws while using our services
